START NOW is a learning group for parents and their middle and high school students with intellectual and developmental disabilities to prepare for future employment. We will be having a potluck tomorrow, April 16th at the Interlake High School Transition Building. The topic for this month will be, “Understanding the System”.
There are many things to think about before your son or daughter turns 18. The system is confusing. Joanne O’Neill from The Arc of King County will come and share from her vast experience as a parent trainer and as a parent about the technical things we should be doing to prepare for employment. She will bring her son, Brendan so we can learn about his job. The students will have a session about “Looking Good” for your job.
Siblings are welcome to come and participate, but there is no childcare available. So please do join us for the potluck, if your evening is free tomorrow. Please bring a main dish or salad to share. We will provide paper products, drinks and cookies.
When: Wednesday, April 16, 2014
Where: Interlake High School Transition Building
16245 NE 24th St. Bellevue, WA 98008
