The Gift of Time – Spectrum Respite & Recreation Program for Tweens and Teens – Kirkland – Saturday June 2, 2014

WAAA is putting on a new event for tweens and teens! The Gift of Time – Spectrum Respite & Recreation Program
The Gift of Time respite program strengthens families with teens & tweens, age 11 – 18 with autism by giving the parents or caregivers a much-needed break. A dynamic group of volunteers bring supported recreational programming to youth, tweens and teens with autism in a safe and calm environment. Behavioral health staff will oversee trained volunteers – who are closely monitored and supported. Gift of Time staff and mentors provide a crucial sense of normalcy to the teens & tweens through shared joy and respect. Pre-registration and admission is required prior to attendance. Please note we need to get to know your child’s unique likes, dislikes, challenges and strengths; identify the right volunteer mentor and ensure we have a very good fit prior to placing with a volunteer.
